We bought a house. It’s in Minnetonka which is 12 miles west of Minneapolis. Most would call Minnetonka a suburb. Eh, I call it more out in the country than suburb.
We tried to live in the city of Minneapolis, but nothing wow’d us. Nothing against Minneapolis, it’s an amazing city. But it’s not that big of a city. Chicago was 3 mil. Minneapolis is 300k. Bit of a difference. We did the urban thing in Chicago. Now, I want my yard, see stars, and peace and quiet.
Speaking of yard, Coda LOVES his yard. Loves it. We joke that we buy furniture and make decisions based on him….
You also learn a lot when you travel as Breanne and I did. You learn what’s most important to you, and what can be looked at as material things you don’t need. I grew up a lot throughout those travels. I think it shown in this house purchase.
We knew Chicago would be damn near impossible to raise kids there with the salaries we had. Minnesota has good schools. I’ve always wanted to plant a prairie in my yard. Minnetonka!
We both fell in love with the house. It’s nothing crazy. We wish we had four more feet of space, but we’ll make due.
The people that had the house before us, made some great upgrades. Attached an addition for the garage for a second car, bathroom/laundry room downstairs, and the kitchen has those quiet closing cabinets! Insane!
There’s also a raised garden just ready to go for planting. I’ve already thrown in carrots, beats, beans, tomatoes, and onions. I’m like a month late, but you never know.
